What We Do
Education and courses
We will offer practical and theoretical courses. The ambition is to start a weaving teacher training program and supply staff from various weaving industries, handweavers included, with useful knowledge. To find our more click here.
Activities and projects
We want to create a destination with different ACTIVITIES, workshops and D.I.Y., seminars and lectures, innovative activites focusing on colour, design and technology. The centre will also accommodate different DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, collaboration with colleges, universities and a wide range of companies. This center will promote sustainability and develop new technical solutions.
International
In the future we want to explore the possibilities of cooperating with other countries. Their cultures and weaving skills can be an inspiration for future innovation.
Rydal
Rydal is situated on the banks of the river Viskan, North of the town called Kinna. Due to the well-preserved remains of an old industrial Community, Rydal is of national interest. The factory, alongside with several other buildings in the village, have been declared historical monuments. Here you can find Rydals museum that offer a wide range of activities. More weaving for the People!
Our association has received funding from the Culture Committee in the region fo Västra Götaland for the next three years. This gives us great opportunities to develop and build our studio up for our meeting place.
The association also has an IOP agreement with the municipality of Mark, which started on 1 October 2022. Here, we work broadly with municipal residents in Mark and the residents/village association in Rydal.
